Episode 20 – Geek Out
Posted: July 6th, 2009 | Author: Eugene | Filed under: Episodes | Tags: Season 3 | 3 Comments »
Get kicked in the face with awesomeness this week, as I interview Rob Bricken from Topless Robot and Chris Sims from The Invincible Super Blog. Rob talks about Transformers 2, the sweet sweet allure of Star Wars toys, and why he spends his Fridays paging through the worst of the worst fan fiction. Chris talks about his start in comedy writing, why comic plotlines aren’t a bad thing, and Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose. Don’t ask questions, just listen.
NOTE: I know I said I said I would post this on Tuesday, but the Internet has demanded it. I guess not that many people were really off work today. Which makes my friends that WERE off work today total jerks.

Show Notes:
- Check out Topless Robot and The Invincible Super Blog. Tell your friends.
- In what can only be described as “epic,” read Rob’s Transformers 2 F.A.Q. and marvel at the things that anger can inspire.
- Here’s the GenCom Fan Fiction post. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. And seriously, don’t even start me on the Pokemon one he posted last Friday. The horror.
- Make sure you check out Chris’s comics at ActionAgeComics.com.
- You can also check out Chris’s work at the following: Prism Comics, CRACKED.com, Flashback Universe and Comics Alliance. All of that is compiled in this handy ISB Bonus Content page.
- Chris reviews Helen Killer! It’s like Helen Keller, only not.
- Chris’s take on Tarot #53 should be required reading.
- The legendary Sims post on Batman and Superman: Like hand and glove.
- Check out the RoboGeisha trailer at TOPLESS ROBOT! Damn, look at that synergy! For the record, Chris did finally see the trailer. I asked if it lived up to his expectations, and he remarked, “all that and more.”
- Music used: Ted Leo and the Pharmacists “Suspect Device”
- Whew, that’s a lot of show notes. Maybe the most ever. If you’ve read this far, you get a picture of a cat on a keyboard.

Showing off the true colors, I see… with the interviews skewed towards comics. finally. A broadcast I can appreciate…
